After 60 years, he was shot dead. I wonder how many of us remember that this was the day he breathed his last. Gandhian Philosophy, is it applicable in the present scenario is what I want to talk about here.

Gandhi's doctrine, as many understand rather misunderstand is not only about telling truth. It is far far deeper than this. Sticking to the truth, facing the consequences there after, how ever needs lots of guts and courage, but when one starts practising that, it gives them the eternal bliss. This out of my experience. Who used to be a great escapist, now tells the truth and feels the relief.

Gandhi, all through the struggle for the freedom of the nation, stressed on the perseverance, bearing the atrocities of the English. He was of the view that one should expect more horrible situations than what other can give. This helped him in bearing the humiliation.

Cleansening is divine. We, very rarely do cleaning without a frown on our face. This doctrine of Gandhi is far from being applicable. I see, labours dipping themselves into the drainage, and I cannot even bear seeing that. Well, let it be treating leprosy patients, or cleaning toilets, Mahatma, showed character and love in his heart towards his country. Spitting on roads, throwing litter from the top of the compound wall are common sites in India.

Khadi movement was one of the prominent ones in India to rule out all the English silk goods being marketed. Now, I myself use several Foreign brands, costing Indian Economy.

So, here is my question to all you guys.. Is Gandhism still being applied in India? Is there any Gandhian Doctrine you follow these days?
